One of the most exciting moments in the history of LiveFashionHair was to crown Eric Maurice as the first ambassador for its awards. There is no doubt that thanks to that, the TCT Awards got a boost. And it could not have had a better representative.
A figure as mediatic as he is, he took advantage of any platform to carry his LiveFashionHair experience, the friends he made and the family he met, an idyllic environment in which his inspiration flew and his creations came true with two collections that went around the world and were covers in a multitude of Magazines, "Mare Nectaris" and "Desert Roses". Two proposals that were the result of teamwork. Because this is more than just a regular event, more than just a contest, it is a diferentes way of understanding hairdressing, of making it grow, of feeding on each other and of obtaining results by mixing diverse cultures and techniques. Always betting that diversity will lead us to enrich ourselves more.
This time Eric's team and the LiveFashionHair team made a unit that worked for a common goal, building proposals, trends and fashion. And out there are the results of it.
Now that we are once again taking the reins of the hairdressing salons, that we look at the present and the future with optimism, that we are already eager to see and enjoy shows and formations, Eric has dedicate us a few minutes to explain his entire experience in this obligatory break, how he has lived it, and where he is now.

Uno de los momentos de mayor emoción dentro de la historia del Live Fashion Hair, fue coronar a Eric Maurice como el primer embajador de sus premios. No cabe duda que gracias a eso, los TCT Awards cogieron empuje. Y es que no se podría haber tenido un mejor representante.
Una figura tan mediática como es él, aprovechó cualquier plataforma para llevar consigo su experiencia en el Live, los amigos que hizo y la familia que conoció, un entorno idílico en el que su inspiración voló y sus creaciones se hicieron realidad con dos colecciones que dieron la vuelta al mundo y fueron portada en multitud de revistas. “Mare Nectaris” y “Desert Roses”. Dos propuestas que fueron el resultado de un trabajo en equipo. Por que ésto es algo más que un evento al uso, algo más que un concurso, es una forma de entender la peluquería diferente, de hacerla crecer, de alimentarnos los unos de los otros y de obtener resultados mezclando diversas culturas y técnicas. Siempre apostando por que la diversidad nos llevará a enriquecernos más.
En esta ocasión el equipo de Eric y el equipo del Live. Una unidad que trabajó por un objetivo común, construyendo propuestas, tendencia y moda. Y a la vista los resultados.
Ahora que volvemos a coger las riendas de las peluquerías, que miramos el presente y el futuro con optimismo, que tenemos ya ganas de ver y disfrutar de shows y formaciones. Eric nos ha dedicado unos minutos para explicarnos toda su experiencia en este obligado parón, como lo ha vivido, y en qué punto se encuentra ahora.
What did it mean to you to be the first international ambassador for the 2018 TCT Awards?
It was an immense honor for me to be the first ambassador - and I will continue to be the first ambassador because this award has never existed before - as well as having received the award from the international press, as it was the highest award.
It is a pleasure working with Orlando Martín and the great TCT family. It will always be an unforgettable moment for me, and very enriching both artistically and humanly.
My role now for the TCT is to be part of the jury and represent Live Fashion Hair all over the world because I have appeared in the international press with more than 35 magazine covers during 2018/2020.

¿Qué significó para ti ser el primer embajador internacional de los Premios TCT 2018?
Para mí fue un inmenso honor ser el primer embajador - y seguiré siendo el primer embajador porque este premio nunca antes había existido- así como haber recibido el premio de la prensa internacional, ya que era el premio más alto.
Es un placer trabajar con Orlando Martín y la gran familia TCT. Siempre será un momento inolvidable para mí, y muy enriquecedor tanto a nivel artístico como humano.
Mi función ahora para el TCT es formar parte del jurado y representar a Live Fashion Hair en el mundo porque he aparecido en la prensa internacional con más de 35 portadas en revistas durante el 2018/2020.
What would you recommend to hairdressers so that they present themselves to these awards?
Information and training. Hairdressing constantly changes, there are new products, techniques, trends ... Starting in a salon is a good school because we must not lose sight of the fact that the salon is the reality of life. A quote from Oscar Wilde has always guided me: "The supreme wisdom is to have dreams big enough not to lose sight of them when pursued."

¿Qué recomendarías a los peluqueros para que se presenten a estos galardones?
Información y formación. La peluquería cambia constantemente, hay nuevos productos, técnicas, tendencias ... Empezar en un salón es una buena escuela porque no debemos perder de vista el hecho de que el salón es la realidad de la vida. Una cita de Oscar Wilde siempre me ha guiado: "La sabiduría suprema es tener sueños lo suficientemente grandes como para no perderlos de vista cuando se persiguen".
How has the reunion with clients been?
Both my team and I are very happy to be able to resume the activity, as hairdressing is my passion. We also work with a personal image coaching technique that enhances Women with incredible transformations. There have been many days in which we have not been able to see them, but we have been able to continue advising them. The reunion has been very emotional. We have realized that the role wehave for them is more than just beautifying them. It is to listen to them, encourage them, attend to them ...

¿Cómo ha sido el reencuentro con los clientes?
Tanto mi equipo como yo nos sentimos muy felices de poder retomar la actividad, ya que la Peluquería es mi pasión. Además trabajamos con una técnica en coaching de imagen personal que realza a la Mujer con unas transformaciones increíbles. Han sido muchos días en los que no los hemos podido ver, pero los hemos podido seguir.asesorando. El reencuentro ha sido muy emotivo. Nos hemos dado cuenta de la función que tenemos para con ellos es algo más que embellecerlos. Es escucharlos, animarlos, atenderlos…
How has it been getting used to the new working tools?
We have installed protective barriers and everything that this new situation entails, as well as the previous appointment. At first it was difficult, since I felt more like a surgeon than a hairdresser, but we already have it mechanized and we have quickly got used to it. In this life everything is about getting used to new situations. We spend more time with each client and protocols will vary. But we will get ahead, that's for sure.

¿Cómo ha sido acostumbrarse a las nuevas herramientas de trabajo?
Hemos instalado barreras de protección y todo lo que conlleva esta nueva situación, así como la cita previa. Al principio fue difícil, ya que me sentía más un cirujano que un peluquero, pero ya lo tenemos mecanizado y nos hemos acostumbrado rápidamente. En esta vida todo es acostumbrarse a las nuevas situaciones. Empleamos más tiempo con cada cliente y los protocolos variarán. Pero saldremos adelante, eso seguro.
Has this forced "confinement" woken up your creativity? Have you come up with ideas for new collections?
Well, yes, it has allowed me to create and imagine the future, a united future. I am quite a creative person and used to traveling and taking hairdressing to all corners. This obligatory break will come out in all the creations that I am already preparing. But all surprise. It will be seen soon.

Este obligado “confinamiento”, ¿ha despertado tu creatividad? ¿Has sacado ideas para nuevas colecciones?
Pués si, me ha permitido poder crear e imaginar el futuro, un futuro unidos. Soy una persona bastante creativa y acostumbrado a viajar y a llevar la peluquería por todos los rincones. Este parón obligado va salir en todas las creaciones que ya estoy preparando. Pero todo sorpresa. Se verá próximamente.
Your collections are a worldwide reference, some of which you have made in Spain, within the context of LiveFashionHair. What differences do you find between an editorial session in France and another in Spain?
Yes, I love creating and I am very lucky that the press follows me very much artistically speaking, with more than 600 publications in the written press and more than 35 covers in professional magazines in just two years of creating collections. I am very grateful to the Spanish press for supporting me unconditionally. I love creating in Spain with Orlando Martín and LiveFashionHair, since I consider them as my second family. In the end people are different but the way of creating and working is the same. It is true that doing "Desert Roses" and "Mare Nectaris" in those natural environments was something that fed my soul, something different and very enriching if we compare it with the fact of working in a studio that is all more mechanical.

Tus colecciones son un referente a nivel mundial, algunas de las cuales, las has hecho en España, dentro del contexto del Live Fashion Hair. ¿Qué diferencias encuentras entre una sesión editorial en Francia y otra en España?
Si, me encanta crear y tengo la gran suerte de que la prensa me sigue muchísimo artísticamente hablando, con más de 600 publicaciones en prensa escrita y más de 35 portadas en revistas profesionales en sólo dos años de creación de colecciones. Estoy muy agradecido a la prensa española por apoyarme incondicionalmente. Me encanta crear en España con Orlando Martín y el Live Fashion Hair, ya que los considero como mi segunda familia. Al final las personas son diferentes pero la forma de crear y trabajar es la misma. Sí que es verdad que hacer “Desert Roses” y “Mare Nectaris” en esos entornos naturales, fue algo que alimento mi alma, algo diferente y muy enriquecedor si lo comparamos con el hecho de trabajar en un estudio que es todo más mecánico.
